This 2.5”x 6” Copper pressing has 10 Guilloche designs with delicate geometric patterns that are just like Rose Engine lathe engraved patterns made for enameling. They are 1-1/8” square and have a raised border. We hope our enamelist members will enjoy using these!
Guilloché is a decorative engraving technique in which a very precise intricate repetitive pattern or design is mechanically engraved into an underlying material with fine detail. Specifically, it involves a technique of engine turning, called guilloché in French after the French engineer “Guillot”, who invented a machine “that could scratch fine patterns and designs on metallic surfaces”. The machine, called a rose engine, improved upon the more time-consuming practice of making similar designs by hand, allowing for greater delicacy, precision, and closeness of the line, as well as greater speed.
They are easily cut out with a guillotine shear or jeweler’s saw.
With Metal Maven’s patterned metals in your metalsmithing tool kit, your jewelry pieces will be transformed with added interest, detail, character, and charm!
Our collection of patterned copper sheet pressings are perfect for adding texture to your pieces. The patterns work well for backgrounds, back plates, or focal pieces. You can use them as is, or add patina, embellishments, bezels for stones, or even saw out areas of the designs.

Our patterned sheets come unfinished and might have a slight curve due to the rolling process. They usually also have a slight margin around the edges which is also a result of the rolling process.
